Of Sempringham in England, of Saint Gilbert, priest, who, with the assent of Pope Eugene III, founded a monastic order upon which he imposed a bipartite discipline: namely, the Rule of Saint Benedict for the nuns and the Rule of Saint Augustine for the clerics.
