On the day of 21 February
At London in England, of Saint Robert Southwell, priest of the Society of Jesus and martyr, who discharged his office for many years in this city and the neighboring regions and composed spiritual poems, until finally, having been seized because of his priesthood, was most cruelly tortured on the rack at the command of Queen Elizabeth I, and died as a martyr in a noose at Tyburn.
