Of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes, whom, in the fourth year after the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin was proclaimed, a humble girl, Saint Marie Bernard Soubirous, gazed upon often in the hollow of a cliff called Massabielle on the bank of the Gave Pau in the Pyrenees mountains near the town of Lourdes. For which reason countless throngs of Christian faithful have assembled at that place.
