The feast of the Presentation of the Lord, called the Hypapante or Meeting by the Greeks, on which, forty days after the nativity of the Lord Jesus, he was brought to the Temple by Mary and Joseph, in appearance fulfilling the Mosaic law, but in reality meeting his faithful and exultant people: a light for revelation to the nations and the glory of his people Israel.
