On the day of 24 January
The commemoration of Saint Francis de Sales, bishop of Geneva and doctor of the Church, who, a true pastor of souls, led back to union with the Catholic Church many brethren who had been separated from her, taught Christian piety and love of God through his writings, and with Saint Jane de Chantal founded the Order of the Visitation; living humbly, he gave up his soul to God at Lyons on the twenty-eighth of December and was buried in Annecy on this day.
